Raised in the small town of Winstonville, located in the Mississippi Delta, Kimalon is an Assistant District Attorney residing in Jackson, MS. She has served in the capacity of Assistant District Attorney for Hinds County for the past 8(eight) years under the leadership of District Attorney Robert Shuler Smith. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and Mississippi. As a prosecutor, Kimalon is tasked with the responsibility of prosecuting felony crimes against persons. The majority of her trial work has been centered around prosecuting violent offenses to include murder, armed carjacking, armed robbery and aggravated assaults. Kimalon works with victims and/or families of victims throughout the judicial process.

Kimalon is a former Hinds County Circuit Court Law Clerk. After serving as a law clerk, Kimalon served as a legislative attorney for the Mississippi House of Representatives. Her duties included drafting bills, advising House Members on various legal issues and serving as lead counsel for the Penitentiary, Military Affairs, and Game and Fish Committees.

Kimalon's litigation experience began as an Assistant Public Defender for Hinds County. There, she represented indigent persons charged with felony offenses. Later, she served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Jackson, handling the affairs of the City. Kimalon served as a Staff Attorney for Mississippi Center for Legal Services, where she represented indigent citizens in civil matters such as divorce, child custody, alimony, adoption, and guardianship matters. She also served as a Family Violence and Victims Attorney on the Choctaw Indian reservation where she obtained civil protection orders, custody orders, child support orders and spousal support for abused women.

Additionally, Kimalon served as a managing attorney for Disability Rights Mississippi where she advocated for institutionalized people with disabilities. Kimalon has been a lifelong public servant throughout her entire career.

Kimalon graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi College School of Law. Kimalon is a member of Shekinah Glory Baptist Church. Kimalon is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Kimalon has one son.
